Exciting and fast-paced final race expected at Cayuga Dragway

Event and title championships to be determined for Quick 32 Sportsman Series September 9-11

CAYUGA, ONTARIO (September 9, 2011) – Although Phil Sampson leads the Quick 32 Sportsman Series presented by NAPA Auto Parts Championship Point Award Series Standings going into the sixth and final race of the 2011 season, there is a lot of postponed eliminations to take place before a final winner is declared for the season.

This final race will be held September 9-11 at the Cayuga Dragway of Toronto Motorsports Park, but the final elimination of race four must be determined, and three rounds of eliminations must be held before the points race is back in order for this sixth race.

The final round from race four, held at the Grand Bend Motorplex August 4 must be finalized, with Top Sportsman driver Kevin Wicke of Stratford, Ontario, pitted against Top Dragster driver Jeff Moser of Bamberg, Ontario.

Postponed race to take place during Grand Bend Motorplex’s “Thunder by the Beach” weekend September 2-4

GRAND BEND, ONTARIO (August 22, 2011) – Before round five takes place in the Quick 32 Sportsman Series presented by NAPA Auto Parts, Kevin Wicke and Jeff Moser have a date to determine who will be the winner of round four.

While qualifying and most elimination rounds took place in the previous event, the Stratford Spectacular Hot August Nationals at the Grand Bend Motorplex August 4-7, the final was postponed due to rain. Top Sportsman racer Wicke, of Stratford, Ontario, and the Top Dragster entry of Moser, of Waterloo, Ontario will be paired up before the next scheduled event, the “Thunder by the Beach” weekend September 2-4 at Grand Bend.

This final is the first for two-time Quick 32 Sportsman Series champion Wicke this season, and the first-ever for Moser. Wicke drives the K&K Racing 2006 Dodge Stratus, and Moser drives the Blue Thunder Racing big-block powered 2011 Phantom Race Cars dragster.

The Arnprior, Ontario based CVR will once again be a prominent part of the K&K Race program.

Few changes in store for Quick 32 Sportsman Series Champion

STRATFORD, ONTARIO (March 21, 2011) – He didn’t outright win any events in the 2010 Quick 32 Sportsman Series, but through consistency and a strong working relationship with his crew, Top Sportsman driver Kevin Wicke won his second consecutive Quick 32 Sportsman Series Championship title.

“Last year was an awesome season,” noted Wicke, who drives the K&K Racing / CVR Inc. Dodge Stratus. “It has been the perfect time for us.”

Wicke, who also took the Quick 32 Sportsman Series title for its inaugural year of 2009, said there will be few changes to the car for the upcoming season, other than some tweaks to the nitrous system. The 604-cubic inch engine sits in an RJ Race Cars chassis with a two-speed Powerglide courtesy of Hutch’s Transmission Service with a Coan Converter, a MagnaFuel Racing Fuel system, and two-stage Induction Solutions nitrous set-up.


The Quick 32 Sportsman Series top five for 2010 Kevin Wicke – Champion

Kevin WickeSTRATFORD, ONTARIO (November 8, 2010) – With a another consistent and solid year, Kevin Wicke and the K&K Racing Team captured the 2010 Championship in the Quick 32 Sportsman Series presented by NAPA Auto Parts, taking back-to-back titles in the popular drag racing series.

Wicke and his team also took the 2009 Championship, and he said that he believes consistency and working with a devoted team is the reason for success.

“We had a good year, everything went well,” said Wicke. “Consistency is a very big factor in racing,” he continued. “We qualified well and went a bunch of rounds, and our car never let us down.”

Wicke drives a 2006 Dodge Stratus in the Series’ Top Sportsman class, which is comprised of 16 door cars for the elimination rounds. There are also 16 Top Dragsters which compete, and the final eliminator in each class is pitted against each other for an event champion.
