Quick 32 Sportsman Series completes its season at TMP’s Cayuga Dragway
Tom Orr wins final event over the weekend and Phil Sampson wins series championship in 2011
CAYUGA, ONTARIO (September 15, 2011) – The third season of the Quick 32 Sportsman Series presented by NAPA Auto Parts has now been completed, and a new race winner and new champion were declared at the Cayuga Dragway of Toronto Motorsports Park over the weekend.
Tom Orr of Shawville, Quebec picked up his first win in Quick 32 Sportsman Series competition. The Orr Motorsports Dodge Stratus driver, who competes in Top Sportsman, met up with Top Dragster driver Jamie Bridge of Napanee, Ontario in the event final. Bridge fouled in the final, giving the win to Orr.
“I was hoping we would have had a real race,” Orr said about his final run with Bridge, whom he was expecting to give him some strong competition in the last race. “It was some tough racing out there.”

Vito Montesano wins Pro Modified Racing Association championship, Phil Sampson takes Quick 32 Sportsman Series championship and Randy Hope wins Pro Bike & Sled Series championship
CAYUGA, ONTARIO (September 12, 2011) – The sixth and final race was completed yesterday in the Pro Modified Racing Association, the Quick 32 Sportsman Series, and the Pro Bike & Sled Series the Cayuga Dragway of Toronto Motorsports Park today, and winners were declared in each series.
The champions in each of the drag racing series were also determined after this event.
Winning his second PMRA race of the year was Bruce Boland of Stoney Creek, Ontario.
The 1941 Willys driver qualified number two in the field and met up with number one qualifier Eric Latino of Whitby, Ontario, in the final. Latino fouled at the line, and Boland went on to record a 5.943, 240.08 winning run.

Event and title championships to be determined for Quick 32 Sportsman Series September 9-11
CAYUGA, ONTARIO (September 9, 2011) – Although Phil Sampson leads the Quick 32 Sportsman Series presented by NAPA Auto Parts Championship Point Award Series Standings going into the sixth and final race of the 2011 season, there is a lot of postponed eliminations to take place before a final winner is declared for the season.
This final race will be held September 9-11 at the Cayuga Dragway of Toronto Motorsports Park, but the final elimination of race four must be determined, and three rounds of eliminations must be held before the points race is back in order for this sixth race.
The final round from race four, held at the Grand Bend Motorplex August 4 must be finalized, with Top Sportsman driver Kevin Wicke of Stratford, Ontario, pitted against Top Dragster driver Jeff Moser of Bamberg, Ontario.

CAYUGA, ONTARIO (September 7, 2011) – The 2011 season will be completed for the Pro Modified Racing Association, the Quick 32 Sportsman Series, and the Pro Bike & Sled Series September 9-11 at the Cayuga Dragway of Toronto Motorsports Park.
This sixth and final round will determine the winners in each series, and with a very tight points race in each series, this final race of the season will establish the 2011 champions.
“The points in all three of our series are very close right now,” noted Bruce Mehlenbacher, Director of Operations for all series. “Those who have a chance of winning the title will have to be on their game plan, and will be running their strongest tune-ups in an effort to win the championship.”
Drag racing at Grand Bend’s Teamsters “Thunder by the Beach” postponed
Eliminations to take place September 9-11 for Pro Modified Racing Association, Quick 32 Sportsman Series, and Pro Bike & Sled Series at Cayuga Dragway
GRAND BEND, ONTARIO (September 5, 2011) – Racing in the Pro Modified Racing Association, the Quick 32 Sportsman Series, and the Pro Bike & Sled Series was postponed over the Labor Day weekend due to inclement weather.
The racing, part of the Teamsters “Thunder by the Beach” weekend at the Grand Bend Motorplex, could not continue after qualifying due to the constant rain.
The event will be completed during the sixth and final race of the series at the Cayuga Dragway of Toronto Motorsports Park September 9-11.
“It’s unfortunate we could not get this show in,” noted Bruce Mehlenbacher, Director of Operation for all three drag race series. “Grand Bend officials and track workers tried all they could to keep the track, but the constant rain forced the postponement.”
