Consistency and good set-up keys to Quick 32 Sportsman Series leader

Top Sportsman driver Phil Sampson leads series going into next drag racing event, the Teamsters “Thunder by the Beach” at Grand Bend Motorplex

GRANTON, ONTARIO August 31, 2011) – Phil Sampson believes when a winning combination is found, don’t mess with it.

Presently leading the Championship Point Award Series Standings in the Quick 32 Sportsman Series presented by NAPA Auto Parts, the driver of the Chaos Racing Team said they found the combination last season and have continued with the same set-up for 2011.

“We haven’t really made any changes from last season,” noted Sampson, who drives a Top Sportsman 2002 Chevy Cavalier with a 572-cubic inch Reher-Morrison Racing Engines powerplant in a Jerry Bickel Race Cars product. “We put together a good tune up from last year and have left it alone. So far so good.”

ORANGEVILLE, ONTARIO (August 30, 2011) – During the IHRA National event at the Grand Bend Motorplex recently, Katie Ward, driver of Hinbest Racing’s Quick 32 Sportsman Series top dragster, was on her way to winning the Top ET class when her car suffered catastrophic engine failure followed by a major nitrous explosion.

“We suffered a blow, that’s for sure, however we don’t believe in giving up.” Katie said after the incident. “We were out for the season, with no money to rebuild and be competitive.”

“But with the can-do attitude of our team, we went out and built a marketing package for the local NAPA Auto Pro facilities. They all came on board to support our team and were pleased to help us continue racing in 2011.”
