Hinbest Racing and Quick 32 Sportsman Series team up to announce a new automotive scholarship for 2010!
$1000 scholarship at the Canadian Automotive Institute, Canada’s automotive school of business
Orangeville, Ontario (April 30, 2010) – Hinbest Racing has teamed up with the Quick 32 Sportsman Series and the Canadian Automotive Institute to offer a $1000 scholarship along with giving back to the automotive community.
It is hoped the scholarship becomes an annual event.
“Being a student at the Canadian Automotive Institute I am excited to be able to give something back to the school which has instilled so many skills in myself,” said team driver Mike Hinbest.
The Canadian Automotive Institute at Georgian College Barrie is Canada’s only automotive school of business! The school offers an automotive marketing diploma and a bachelor of business automotive management degree. Both programs include 3 paid co-op work terms. Information about the Canadian Automotive Institute will be at select Quick 32 Sportsman Series events along with literature handed out at the Hinbest Racing trailer. Steve Corriveau enters Quick 32 Sportsman Series arena with 1967 Chevy II
Series rookie ready with new Top Sportsman for upcoming season
FONTHILL, ONTARIO (April 28, 2010) – Steve Corriveau is hoping the car he will be driving in the upcoming Quick 32 Sportsman Series presented by NAPA Auto Parts will bring him the same success as its previous owner.
The Fonthill, Ontario racer purchased the former Bruce Boland 1967 Chevy II Pro Modified last year, and has been rebuilding the car since then to race in the Top Sportsman class of the Quick 32 Sportsman Series.
The Chevy II took Boland to the Pro Modified Racing Association Championship in 2009, but after a winter’s worth of work, Corriveau said the Chevy, now painted white and green, will be ready for the first round of Quick 32 Sportsman Series action.
“We fired up the car yesterday,” he noted. “Everything is all done and ready. It will be out for the first event.”

Rochester, New York based Top Dragster team hopes to continue with success of last year
ROCHESTER, NEW YORK (April 24, 2010) – The dragster team of Morgan and Forrest had a successful first year in the Quick 32 Sportsman Series presented by NAPA Auto Parts, and team crew chief Doug Morgan said he and driver Buddy Forrest are prepared to take the momentum into this year’s tour.
“We’re ready to rock,” said Morgan, who along with Forrest race in the series’ Top Dragster class. “We’re looking forward to it. We had a successful season last year.”
The Rochester, New York-based team competes with a Spitzer Enterprises dragster, powered by a 638-cubic inch Chevy engine using a nitrous oxide system. The power goes through a two-speed Powerglide to the rear slicks.
Canadian Drag Racer Magazine set to launch
Kitchener, Ontario (April 19 2010)– Canadian drag racing coverage will be forever changed with the introduction of Canadian Drag Racer Magazine. The new web destination for Canadian drag racers and fans will feature stories about the people who work tirelessly to make drag racing in Canada a large part of many people’s summer activities.
With a team of photo journalists poised to hit tracks from coast to coast this year, the coverage offered by Canadian Drag Racer Magazine will provide in-depth looks at grassroots competitors, promoters and event staff across Canada.
The site will have several feature areas, including news coverage from the many successful Canadian based racing series, as well as editorial commentary from some of the sport’s most respected and controversial personalities. The main focus of the site however will be on the ‘weekly warriors’. It will provide insight and background information about the people who make the drag racing world a mainstay in this country. With feature stories about competitors from the Junior Dragster and Sportsman ranks, to the personnel that work behind the scenes ensuring that those competitors have a safe and welcoming place to spend their leisure time, Canadian Drag Racer Magazine will have something for everyone who loves drag racing.

Racer information, statistics, search engine and fan participation all part of new-look sites
CAYUGA, ONTARIO (April 18, 2010) – In an effort to present the best in drag racing, the Pro Modified Racing Association, www.PMRA.ca and the Quick 32 Sportsman Series presented by NAPA Auto Parts, www.Quick32.ca are launching improved and updated websites.
The sites will offer a smoother flow of information, competitor information, race statistics, and will be much more interactive.
The updated sites have been designed and developed by webmaster Mike Goodwin of MG Digital Media, www.mgdigital.ca, a talented freelance graphic designer and sports action photographer. Goodwin is well known for his graphic excellence and presentation.
“There are several exciting new features incorporated into these sites”, said Goodwin, “but our primary goal was to offer a wealth of information for fans and racers in the PMRA and the Quick 32 Sportsman Series.”
